Nuno Oliveira is an experienced and highly talented drummer, whose work can be heard in the live performances and studio mixes of countless artists across a wide array of genres within the music industry.
In this feature, we catch up with Nuno to find out what he’s been up to, what he has planned for the future, and how he’s getting on with his Cosmic Ears!
Who are you currently working with? And who have you worked with in the past?
I work, and have worked with a variety of bands and artists, both in the studio and live. Some of those are: NEPTUNE, George Marios, April Jai, L.A. Peach, On Man, Tom Vaughan, Izzie Naylor, Abi Farrell, Saffron, Just Like Honey, among many others. I also do a lot of tribute shows, and those keep me pretty busy.
What music and/or artists do you like to listen to at the moment (aside from your own/the artists you are working with)?
Well, I’m usually a bit all over the map, and I love it! One day it’ll be Thunder Jackson, beabadoobee, Baby Rose and Cat Burns, the next will be Steely Dan and TOTO, or Chris Stapleton. Then Queens of The Stone Age, Faith No More and Alice in Chains, and all the way to Meshuggah and Porcupine Tree. And obviously, who doesn’t love Olivia Dean and RAYE?
What exciting new music or shows have you got coming up?
Ooh some very exciting ones haven’t been announced yet, but there’s plenty of festivals in the pipeline for the year. George Marios has a new song coming out on the 14th March, so keep an ear out for some Rock goodness then.
Plenty of other amazing releases coming out this year too, but I’ll let the artists announce those, ha!
Which band or artist would you like to sing the soundtrack to your biopic?
Phoebe Bridgers.
What is the most important factor for you when choosing custom IEMs?
For me, it’s three - isolation (as I have to hit the drums pretty hard on some shows), sound and build quality.
What Cosmic Ears model are you currently using?
I’m a proud owner of a pair of the CE6P’s (now called the C6A).
How would you describe the sound of your Cosmics in 3 words?
Detailed, balanced, accurate.

You’ve proven to me time and time again that your customer service is second to none. You’ve been incredibly helpful on a few occasions, and are always at hand to help with advice, too. And I’ve always sensed that your priorities lie in making sure your clients and artists are fully satisfied with their Cosmics!
What words of wisdom do you have for anyone reading this story?
I might need some of those myself! I’m not too sure - be yourself, be kind, be honest and true. Be prepared, be proactive and bring the energy, but also know when to take a step back and listen. And always be open to new experiences and be willing to learn!
